Qilinshan Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Beijing Institute of Geology named in 1959, Hunan survey team in 1973 for the first time publicly quoted. The reference section is located near the Ma Bridge in Lianyuan, Hunan Province.

Lithology and Thickness
It is mainly composed of calcareous silty shale containing mica, siltstone, limestone and sandy marl. The residual thickness ranges from 261 m to 523 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
At the bottom, the yellow-green shale is in conformable contact with the limestone at the top of the underlying Daye Group (Guanzishan Fm).
Upper contact
Regionally, the next younger unit is the Chutanlong Fm of Norian.
Regional extent
Distribution is limited, only seen in Lianyuan, Hunan, Shuangfeng area, due to denudation did not peak.

Fossils
There are bivalve fossils Leptochondria sp., Posidonia sp., Amonotis sp., Nuculana sp. and conodont Coenudina sp. found only on the bottom.
